For any e-commerce business, product images are crucial in driving sales and building brand recognition.
We need no empirical evidence to underline its importance more, but for our benefit, let’s point out a study by MDG Advertising, which states that 67% of online shoppers believe that high-quality product images are more important than product descriptions or customer reviews. A report by Etsy found that 90% of respondents think product image quality is extremely or very important when making a purchasing decision.
If I take my 20 years of experience as a successful entrepreneur myself, I have seen that, no matter how adept of a post-production team of a photographer, photo studio, e-commerce, or product photographer is, they always fall short to meet the client’s demand and acquire more work, as the work is intricate and overwhelmingly overpowering.
At the same time, managing consistent quality in photography and editing remains a massive goal to undertake in any given circumstance. As a hobbyist photographer myself, I felt the need for a supremely efficient post-production workforce.
With that thought in mind, I found a solution–establishing a company that is well-equipped in terms of resources and quality to adequately assist in fulfilling photographers’ dream workflow and vision, resulting in a broader brand expansion.
Let’s take one of our recent client’s case, as an example.
We have been providing high-end retouching services to the industry’s biggest brands for more than 18 years as a company, and solving all kinds of problems of our clients is our bread and butter.
So when this particular client contacted us, this was no exception, but what was astonishing was his thought that he could not make the deadline with such a massive number of photos.
His queries were simple; he had to ensure high-end jewelry retouching of 6000 photos in only 30 days.
He indeed has an in-house post-production team consisting of five highly skilled photo editors. But this work requires a tremendous amount of effort and time, sometimes even 1.5 hours for a single image for even the most skilled editor.
Therefore, his team could only process 25 images a day and only 250 images in 10 days, which is 5,750 images less than the target, which has only 20 days to meet.
This E-commerce businessman also tried platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, but the quality was not up to mark for him.
As he found us through a random Google search and contacted us with so much anxiety and apprehension, we assured him that we could actually perfectly edit and send his 6000 images in 15 days( including revision time), 5 days before his deadline. And we did it in 70% less his cost and time, receiving a heartfelt thank you note from him in the end of our collaboration.
To us, this problem was simple: we edit this amount of high-end editing work for our hundreds of clients worldwide every day. Then, when I thought about it, I could see it is not so simple for our clients.
To get a capacity like ours (we have a pool of 250+ highly skilled retouchers in three offices), a photography studio needs to employ at least 50+ employees to attain the same monthly goals of 6000 images per month, which is not even close to what we do in a week.
And that is not all. The costs become 300% lower than having a post-production team, as businesses don’t have to build infrastructures, allocate funds or resources, or train their workforce.
